Seminar Foundations of Sexual Medicine

Content and Objectives
How does sexual counseling change when a client is taking blood pressure medication, or when a client is experiencing menopause? What can be done if recurrent yeast infections occur during therapeutic exercises? Or when a surgical procedure is planned?
This seminar provides a foundation in anatomy, physiology, and medical conditions relevant to sexuality. The course is explicitly not a Sexocorporel training program. Rather, it complements our educational programs by providing knowledge that all professionals working in sexual counseling and sexual therapy should possess.

Target Group
Graduates of Sexocorporel training programs as well as other interested professionals.

Previous knowledge of the Sexocorporel approach is not required.

Facilitators
Dr. Nicole Viereck, gynecologist, and Dr. Thomas Luginbühl, urologist, are experienced physicians and educators. As both are also trained in the Sexocorporel approach, they are uniquely qualified to bridge the perspectives of conventional medicine and our understanding of sexuality.

Certification
For participants seeking the title of Clinical Sexologist (ISI) who have not completed equivalent training elsewhere, this seminar fulfills 50% of the required foundational education in sexology.
The remaining 50% of the foundational training is offered in a subsequent seminar.

Date
This seminar is offered approximately every four years. The most recent seminar took place in October 2023.

Location
Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany
Caritas Conference Center
